Llum Barrera

Actress and TV presenter (Alcúdia, 1968)

When Llum finished school she moved to Barcelona where she studied journalism and worked in different forms of the media – ABC, Diario de Barcelona, Radio Barcelona – but she soon realised that she could not deny her true vocation as an actress and left journalism to study Drama in the Institut del Teatre. Convinced that the path she finally took was the best possible one, she claims that acting has given her a life full of happiness and good times.

Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to alternate different work in television, theatre and

cinema. In the theatre she began by working with such legendary Catalan companies as Els Comediants and El Tricicle, and then acted in plays like Cincomujeres.com, Àngel, El maletín and Mort de Dama.

 

In the cinema she has worked in Princesas and Diario de una ninfómana, a film for which she was nominated for a Goya Award as best supporting actress. In television she has taken part in programmes like El club de la comedia, Nada personal and Channel no4, she has presented the programme Llum i acció in IB3, and acted in well-known Spanish series like Aquí no hay quien viva, El comisario, Hospital central and Siete vidas.
